Nigeria is passing through one of its most painful seasons. Across different states, families are living with fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak as kidnappings and violent attacks continue to rise. Once lively communities have become tense. Parents are afraid to let their children travel. Many people wake up praying their loved ones return home safely.
The weight of insecurity has made many people feel helpless, but Nigerians are strong. Even in the midst of fear, we see courage. We see communities standing together, neighbourhoods looking out for each other, and people choosing faith over fear. In moments like these, prayer becomes more than a tradition; it becomes a lifeline.
This is why today, we stand together to pray for Nigeria, believing that God is still able to heal, protect, and restore this nation.
A Prayer for Nigeria
Heavenly Father,
We lift Nigeria before You in this painful season. You see the kidnappings, the killings, the fear, and the suffering of Your people. Lord, have mercy on this nation.
Father, comfort the families waiting for the return of their loved ones. Strengthen those who are grieving. Hold the brokenhearted close and give them the grace to endure each day.
We pray for those who have been kidnapped, protect them, preserve their lives, and make a way for their safe release. Let Your presence surround them even in the darkest places.
Lord, bring peace to every community affected by violence.
Cover our roads, our villages, our towns, our cities, and our borders with Your protection.
Let Your angels stand guard over Nigeria.Give wisdom and courage to our leaders, security forces, and everyone working to restore safety.
Expose every hidden plan of evil.
Disarm every attacker.
Bring justice to those who cause harm and repentance to those whose hearts have turned to violence.Father, arise over Nigeria.
Let peace return.
Let fear be lifted.
Let safety be restored.
And let every Nigerian feel Your protection again. We trust You, Lord. You are the God who saves, and Nigeria is in Your hands.
Amen.
